Two-year investigations (1984/85 and 1986/87) were carried out in Zupanja area (Slavonia - Yugoslavia) with Dukat winter wheat variety. Optimal and late sowing dates, fertilization at four nitrogen levels (140, 170, 200 and 230 kg/ha) divided into three different ways of distribution at top dressing (20 + 30 + 40;0 + 60 + 30;0 + 30 + 60 kg N/ha) were investigated. Two years average of grain yield shows the advantage of optimal sowing date for Dukat variety (5,245:5,016 t/ha). Higher quantities of nitrogen increased the grain yield, but in absolutely low quantities. (4,909:5,107:5,210:5,293 t/ha). Different ways of nitrogen distribution at top dressing did not affect the grain yield.
