In the pathology of mammary glands, oedema-both inflamatory and non-inflammatory, represents a major problem. Notwithstanding the fact that gravidity oedema is not a pathologic condition, the problem imposes itself by frequency of occurrence and its possible farmful effects. In view of the importance of the problem, which is encountered by veterinarian practitioners and farmers, the researchers used "HEPESCIN" ("Bosnalijek" Sarajevo-Yugoslavia) in the therapy and cure of udder oedema. Liniment Hepescin was applied to 47 cows and 29 ewes with physiological oedema. The medication, in most cases, had to be applied to the swollen quarters of udder 2-3 times, very small number needed application 4 times during 1-2 days, in order to produce a noticeable improvement and disappearance of oedema. While the liniment is being applied, it is recommended that the animals are kept on diet, with minimum of water. Two replication (2X2) produced a noticeable improvement or complete disappearance of oedema in 78.71% of the cases. In sheep, after 24 hours oedema withdrew in 41.37% of cases.
