Some characteristic cases of application of the theory of optimum density of forest communication network

The article treats the problem of forest opening, mainly by existing road network. In practice very often slope-roads are built, in spite of the existing foothill-roads. In that case beside the establishing of optimum density of forest communications it is necessary to prove the economic justification of building one, two or more slope-roads. This can be easily done by comparing relevant costs, on the basis of equations 1, 2 and 7 with corresponding schemes, in which the analysis of downhill hauling to truck-roads was made.
