The results obtained point to an active reactioning of the adrenal gland to an aggressive effect of chemical fertilizers. This is corroborated by the histoenzymological findings of a decreased quantity of nucleic acids, a changed contents of lipid substances in the cells of the fascicular zone, an intensified activity of spongiocytes. This testifies that chemical fertilizers toxically affect the fascicular zone of the adrenal gland. The results obtained show that this part of the adrenal cortex is in correlative relations in reacting to the agent studied. The higher centres in the organism are activated, the differentiation at the level of thalamus being the most distinguished The investigation was coducted with white rats.
