Effect of cutting on seed yield and quality of alfalfa, at five localities (producers) were studied in agroecological conditions of Vojvodina (Yugoslavia), for three years. Highest three-year average seed yield of alfalfa was achieved in second cutting (386,9 t/ha), than third (189,3 kg/ha) and lowest in first cutting (179,4 kg/ha). In year of sowing, first cutting gave most stability seed yield of alfalfa, third is recommended on condition with earlier mowing of first and second cutting for forage (alfalfa flour producers). A decisive role on alfalfa seed yield and quality formation is precipitation (amount and schedule), especially in time of blossoming, fructifications and seed filling.
