The efficacy of some herbicides in weed control was studied in the five-year-old quince planting. In the part of the planting where perennial weeds prevailed, Herbatop - 8 l/ha showed the best herbicidal effect. It completely eliminated Agropyrum repens, with the weaker effect on Convolvulus arvensis and Cirsium arvense. In the part of the planting with larger number of annual weeds (Stellaria media, Veronica spp., Chenopodium album), Caragard combi - 10 kg/ha had the best effect. None of the herbicides used caused any visible phytotoxic symptoms on quince. Moreover, yields were higher when applying most herbicide combinations than during the control.
