1993
Mrkovacki, N. | Milic, V. | Saric, Z. (Faculty of Agriculture, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops)
The effect of six herbicides on the growth of Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains was tested in pure culture. Different concentrations of the herbicides Codal, Dual, Dualin, Igran combi, Pivot and Scepter were tested. Inhibition zone was recorded in millimeters after seven and fourteen days of growth. Different effects were achieved with the herbicides and their various concentrations. Scepter did not inhibit the growth of the Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains tested in pure culture and as such it was most beneficial for use, unlike Igran combi which caused the largest inhibition in most of the tested Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains. In laboratory conditions, the recommended herbicide rates did not inhibit the growth of the tested Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains.
