In experiment significant differences were obtained between 4 cultivars of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) in dry weight of plant organs during the reproductive period. The highest grain weight was in cultivars Yugoslavia with highest and Zitnica with the lowest dry matter weight of vegetative organs. Fertilization resulted in increase of dry weight of all organs, this increase occurring mostly at lower levels of fertilization and more in heading than later on. A depressive effect of the highest level was expressed. The share of dry weight of vegetative organs decreased after heading, while that of the spike increased rapidly. The highest differences between cultivars were in heading and the lowest in full maturity. Fertilization caused slight changes in dry weight share of individual organs.
