Reliability of vigor test methods applied on wheat seed produced in different ecological and agrotechnical conditions

The variance analysis showed the significant impact of variety, year, locality and applied quantity of nitrogen on seed vigor in all applied vigor tests. Largeness, mass of 1000 seeds and imbibition as the function of vigor tests were under greater influence of morphological conditions of production years, as well as the physiological vigor tests with stresses caused by anaerobic conditions. After that follows locality and quantity of nitrogen, while genetic differences between varieties were the smallest. There were significant and positive correlative relationships between physiological vigor test and laboratory and field germination. There was a good mutual agreement between physiological tests. The relationship was stronger when the negative test conditions were more similar. The Hiltner test was chosen to be the most reliable in the ecological trial, while in agrotechnical trial the results of some of the vigor tests were more balanced.
