Juniper (Juniperus communis L.) has a very large ecological valence in relation to all ecological factors. It is very significant as a pioneer species in the reclamation of devastated forests. It is an irreplaceable species in the biological recultivation of spoil banks. Its anti-microbial properties and an attractive crown form make it widely applicable in landscape architecture. Its economic significance is based on the content of essential oils, sugar, anti-microbial substances and essential microelements.
