Using immunofluorescent reactions of spermatozoa obtained from ejaculates of vesiculectomized and control males, following incubation with serums of females bred with males of both groups, it was established that spermatozoa react with the serum of females bred with vesiculectomized males. At the same time, the reaction with serums of females which were bred with control males was slight or negative. This difference is a result of the lack of immunosuppresive substances originating from the seminal vesicles, which shows that the immunization of females with sperm antigens does not depend only on the antigen, but also on the presence of immunosuppressive components of seminal plasma. Females bred with vesiculectomized males have considerably fewer babies in their litter after the third pregnancy.
