A review of the experimental results of medicinal and aromatic herbs drying processes which are performed using the prototype of universal trailled drying plant is presented in the paper. In order to estimate kinetic and technological properties and energy consumption of drying process a number of plant materials is included in executed experiments. Dry matter and essential oils content are chosen as quality characteristics of drying process. Special attention was paid to obtain the data needed for drying plant design and performance optimization. The results and analysis have shown good quality of dried materials and rational energy consumption.
