In this paper, the results of investigation of the indol-butyric acid (IBA) and the alfa-naphtyl acetic acid (NAA) to the percentage of rooting of mature cuttings of lemon in the period of 1995-1997, are presented. Better percentage of rooting was registered with the variety Meyer (86.66) that was treated with 3000 ppm of indol-butyric acid (IBA), and poorely with the variety Mjesecar (20.00) that was treated with 0.1 of alfa-naphtyl acetic acid (NAA). Statistically very significant greater influence of IBA (3000 ppm) to the percentage of rooting of mature cuttings of the variety Meyer (86.66) then with the variety Mjesecar (33.33) and statistically significant greater influence of 0.1 NAA with the variety Meyer (38.33) then with the variety Mjesecar (20.00), was registered. It is prooved that the success of rooting depends on the phytohormone with which the cuttings were treated and arome the genetic characteristics of investigated varieties.
