Effect of meliorative practices on the adsorptive complex in the solonetz soil

Belic, M.
The thesis presents the results of a study on the effect of meliorative practices on the adsorptive complex of the solonetz soil. The experiments conducted at the experimental field "Kumane", Vojvodina, Serbia (Yugoslavia) included the following variants: 1. Distance between drainage pipes 20 m + 50 t/ha phosphogypsum + trenching at 50 cm; 2. Distance between drainage pipes 20 m + 25 t/ha phosphogypsum + trenching at 50 cm; 3. Distance between drainage pipes 10 m + 50 t/ha phosphogypsum + trenching at 50 cm; 4. Distance between drainage pipes 10 m + 25 t/ha phosphogypsum + trenching at 50 cm; 5. Natural pasture - check variant. The applied meliorative practices changed the ratio of the mechanical soil fractions and changed to a certain extent the mineralogical composition and mineral distribution in the examined soil layer 0-50 cm. Changes were observed in the content and composition of organic matter. Alkalinity was reduced and the quantitative and qualitative compositions of cations and anions were significantly modified in all layers of the solonetz soil. It may be concluded that the meliorative practices applied improved the properties of the solonetz soil, i.e., the properties of its adsorptive complex.
