Development of new mathematical model for prediction of dry matter intake in nutrition of Holstein cows
1999
Glamocic, D.
The aims of this work are: development of a new model for dry matter intake (DMI) prediction in feeding of high yielding Holstein cows, testing of the most of models published in the world until now by simulation of the entering parameters and comparison of the models with the experimental data. After detailed regression analysis body weight (BW), energy corrected milk (ECM), factor for correction in the phase of early lactation (F-1) and factor for correction of the effect of management (F-2) were included into the new mathematical model for the prediction of DMI: DMI=(4.2+0.0134*BW+0.319*ECM)*F-1*F-2. On the basis of the comparisons done, as the most complete and equally precise for DMI prediction in all phases of lactation was the new model. Besides the new model for the prediction of DMI during the whole lactation yet some models were recommended. In the period of 11 weeks until the drying off the new model achieved the best results. Besides it, very good results realized: NRC, (1989-modification Rayburn and Fox) and McCullough (1973).
