[Variability of autochthonous populations of melon (Cucumis melo L.)]

Considering the diversity of the present gene fund and its significance to the variety selection at the Centre for Vegetable Crops in Smederevska Palanka, Serbia (Yugoslavia), the collection was accumulated and then evaluated. Paying the special attention to characterization and classification of the gene fund in relation to sex expression and sex characteristics, we investigated 20 genotypes and grouped them according to these characteristics. These characteristics are of great importance for the production of melon hybrid seed.
