Examination of hydraulic excavator dynamic loads
1998
Malesev, P. | Vladic, J. (Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia))
An attempt was made to examine the level of dynamic loads which appear during the turning process of excavator attached to agricultural tractor. Experience from earlyer made measurements has shown that these loads can be very high and it was suspected that applied rubber bumpers are the cause. The examination was performed through computer simulation under application of programme package ADAMS. The simulation results have shown that under normal working conditions the braking valves can stop the rotation of working device without any load peaks. Insufficiently carefull way of operator working can lead to collision with rubber bumpers what is followed by heavy dynamic loads, dangerous for machine. The conclusion was made that it would be more subitable to apply hydraulic shock apsorbers instead of rubber bumpers. The other possible way to avoid mentioned high dynamic loads would be to use the action of braking valves through forced disengagement of driving mechanism before comming too close to the bumper.
