The technological procedure of soybean grain hydrothermal operating for three years in Holding PIK "Agrobanat" in Plandiste, Serbia, Yugoslavia, has been described. The main quality parameters that were observed during the thermal treatment of soybean grain, as well as at controlling the quality of final products are urease activity, trypsin inhibitor content and nitrogen solubility index (NSI). Hydrothermally treated soybean grain obtained from the unit in Holding PIK "Agrobanat" in Plandiste is characterized on an average by the following chemical quality parameters: urease activity - 0.30 mg/g x min at 30 deg C; trypsin inhibitor content - 4.15 mg/g; NSI - 19.30%. On the basis of the results obtained in a biological trial, it can be concluded that hydrothermal treatment of soybean grain the price of which is low due to low processing costs, renders cheaper livestock feed and consequently cheaper meat.
