The grape vine rootstock B x R SO4 clone 47 was tested in varietal microtrials of the Yugoslav Variety Registration Committee in the 1992-1994 period. The rootstock was introduced by the "Geinzenheim" College of Agriculture (FR of Germany). Based on triennial investigation results the rootstock B x R SO4 clone 47 was found resistant to phylloxera, cryptogamic diseases and nematodes, as well as tolerant to 50% total and 20% physiological lime. This rootstock also ensured significantly and highly significantly greater cuttings mass and yield. The clone 47 featured a greater percentage of class 1st rooted cuttings, and the varieties Chardonay and Italian Riesling grafted onto the said clone ensured a significantly higher percentage of class 1st grafts.
