Agriculture as a producer of energy
1998
Jovanovic, M. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia)) | Zekic, V. (PIK "Becej", Becej (Yugoslavia))
This paper draws special attention on the use of secondary products yielded from agricultural crops (such as wheat, corn, soya, sunflower, barley, oats and rye) as a supstitute for classic fuels (heating oil, coal, wood, etc.). Special care is paid to technological methods of making briquette, gathering, transport and storing of secondary products intended for more economical use of means of transport. However, less attention is paid to the exploitation of primary agricultural products as energetic raw materials for extracting biodiesel which may be used for heating in drying rooms and steam boilers. The paper also provides secondary products' economic value study. With the supstition of expensive classic fuels with the major agricultural crops' secondary products (calculated in coal energetic value), more favourable economic results may be registered at the Yugoslav agricultural estates.
