Availability of chemical elements to plants depends on many factors among which are the content of colloid clay and the type of clay minerals in the soil. This paper presents the results of mineralogical and chemical analyses (total contents of Fe, Mn, Ca, Cu, Cr, Ni, Zn, Pb and Cd) of granite grus fraction 0.002 mm (in which minerals are in the initial phases of chemical weathering) and soil regosol on muscovite-biotite granite of Polumir, Serbia (Yugoslavia). The data are a contribution to the study of the amount of readily available elements in the above type of soil on granite, but also a contribution to the study of distribution and migration of chemical elements in the course of superficial alteration of granite and the respective pedogenetic processes.
