Short-term (72 hours) effect of Ni, Cd and their interaction in 10E-5 M concentration was determined on young pea plant physiological processes and water regime parameters with send culture method in glasshouse semi-controlled conditions. Presence of explored heavy metals in nutrient solution and their interactions, except Cd, did not affected neither dry weight mass of root and above-ground parts nor above-ground parts/root ratio. Relative water content, intensity of transpiration, root area and nitrate-reductase activity where significantly lower in presence of heavy metals. Excessive Ni, Cd and their interactions in nutrient solution significantly increased osmotic potential of xylem, diffusive resistance and free proline content. Cd in relation with Ni, had stronger affect on explored processes. Presence of both elements in nutrient solution, depend of explored parameter, had more or less decreased their individual negative effect, especial Cd.
