We can state that the feeding of fermented milk product in dry state with the content more than 10**6/g active microflora of bacteria of the strains Bifidobacter and Lactobacillus to calves up to the age 90 days influenced positively the live weight gains which were by 5% higher in the experimental group during the whole experimental period. Mainly the consumption of forage was markedly higher. The intake of lucerne hay increased by 33% up to the 56th day of age, and for the whole studied period it rose by 24%. It can be supposed that it will influence a more rapid development of proventriculi, and it will positively influence also the development of calves. The calves will prepare more quickly to the rised intake of forage, and it can manifest itself at a more advanced age.
