The grain yield has been considered as an extremely complex trait. Conducting investigations of the mode of inheritance for the yield components, mostly quantitative traits, could be substantial for the wheat breeding effectiveness. Four crosses of genetically divergent wheat varieties has been made: Rodna x Atlas 66, Odeska x Kremna, Lasta x Kavkaz, Bezostaja 1 x Saitama to study the mode of inheritance for stem height and spike length in F1 and F2. According to the results, there were significant differences exhibited among varieties for all the examined traits. The stem height appeared to depend on dominant and intermediate inheritance, while for spike length dominance and overdominance prevailed.
