Synthesis and properties of the precursor for the nickel hydrogenation catalyst obtained by precipitation in the controlled pH medium

Precursors of nickel hydrogenation catalyst were obtained by precipitation of nickel compounds on diatomite support in controlled hydrolysis of carbamide at 90 deg C. By varying the time of precipitation, nickel salts concentration and hydrolytic reagent concentrations, precursors with diverse content of active component and diverse textural properties were obtained. It was shown that better bonding of active species on diatomite support was achieved by the prolonged precipitation from more concentrated solutions, which was followed with great changes in textural characteristics of the obtained precursors.
