Economically important Tortricidae of pear

Among the diverse species from the family Tortricidae occurring in pear plantations, Cydia pyrivora and Adoxophyes orana are most important. Cydia pyrivora produces one generation annually. Butterflies appear in the first half of June in southern Serbia (Yugoslavia) and in the second half of June in western Serbia (Yugoslavia). Between 35 and 82% of fruits of summer and winter pear varieties may be damaged. Adoxophyes orana has been an important pear pest in western Serbia (Yugoslavia) over last two decades. Some varieties suffer over 50% damage. This pest produces two generations annually.
