Effect of growth stage on macro and trace elements contents in red (Trifolium pratense L.) and white clover (Trifolium repens L.) was investigated. During growth and development, N decreased, in red clover 42.2-25.2 g/kg DM in first and 47.4 to 31.5 g/kg DM in second cut and in white clover from 39.9 to 35.1 g/kg DM and from 47.6 to 33.4 g/kg DM, respectively. P and K decreased in both cuts of red clover and in second cut of white clover. Changes in Ca and Mg show no constancy during period of investigation. Contents of Fe and Mn were highest in first growth stage. With maturation, there was no change in Cu in first cut (interval 12.2-12.9 mg/kg DM in red clover and 10.2-10.6 mg/kg DM in white clover). In second cut Zn decreased in red clover 67.1-44.5 mg/kg DM and in white clover 45.7-38.5 mg/kg DM. Co content was in range 0.18-0.28 mg/kg DM.
