Results of ten years researching of fodder galega in Yugoslavia

In ten-year period (1991-2000) researching, in agroecological condition of North Backa (Serbia, Yugoslavia) there were established that the fodder galega variety YU Margarita RB-MAG 1/97 has very high content of crude proteins, crude fats, cellulose and ashes. This fodder plant has show resistance to diseases, pests, Cuscuta ssp., low temperatures and weeds from the 3rd year of life. Yields of green mass and hay were the highest in the period from fifth to ninth year. When preparing the hay the leaf don't fall off, the entire lenght of the stalk is hollow, easy for drilling and pressing. The cattle gladly east: the green mass, hay, silage and protein vegetable flour.
