Silvicultural operations in the function of the growing stock enhancement in Serbia [Yugoslavia]

This paper analyses the forest the relative area under timber and the state of the growing stock in Serbia (Yugoslavia) per tree species, ownership and silvicultural form. On this basis, the necessary silvicultural operations were defined by the principle of priority for the improvement of the unfavourable state in the forests of high silvicultural form, by natural regeneration and forest tending, as well as by the reclamation of coppice and degraded forests.
