[The Schaeffler's diagram application to estimate weldability of stainless steel]

The paper deals with weldability of stainless steel and gives an analysis of the problems which occure in the process of welding. A more precise mathod of the lever rule in the Schaeffler's diagram was used, in order to obtain the chemical composition of the seam material, if the chemical composition of the base and additional materials, the degree of alloying elements utilization and the ratio of the base material to the material of the seam, were known. Using both, by diagram-analytical and measurement-experimentally, the high degree of correlation of 8-ferrite amounts were obtained, which indicates that Cr sub(e) and Ni sub(e) equations are adequate.
