There were examined the settling properties of coagulated water using the laboratory tests with columns. Suspensions were coagulated using coagulants FeCl3, Al2(SO4)3 and the polyaluminium chloride. On diagram percent removal versus depth are constructed curves of equal percent removal of suspended particles. On the basis of the curves shapes was concluded that all investigated suspensions are flocculant and the settling properties of coagulated water with Al2(SO4)3 is the worst. The overflow rates were calculated in the aim of design the settling tank: 1.7x10E-3 m/s and 1.1x10E-3 m/s for the suspension prepared with FeCl3 and polyaluminium chloride and 5.4x10E-4 m/s with Al2(SO4)3.
