Traditionally pump regulation is obtained by using valves on the pressure pipe. In this way, if it is necessary to realise 70% of nominal flow actually we reduce energy consumption by appromaximately 5%. This results in significant energy losses which increases cost of water. Increase of electric power price caused increased use of frequency converters in pump stations. Electric frequency converter is electronic equipment designed to conduct work of electric motors. By variation of frequency and voltage of electric power it is posible to control speed of pump, and simultaneously, nominal motor torque in the whole range of regulation. In this cause spending of energy can by reduce at half. For example, at the same 70% flow a frequency converter only uses 52% of full flow power.
