Parvoviral infection in dogs is a contagious disease which affects all age groups, but most frequently puppies. The clinical picture is very expressed, but it is still necessary, in order to make a definite diagnosis, to prove the presence of the virus using laboratory examinations. The work presents the results of examinations of 13 dogs diseased with the parvovirus, from which samples were taken for processing using three methods: haemagglutination, immunofluorescence and immunochromatographic tests (Civtest Parvocan-Ag). The immunochromatographic and haemagglutination methods demostrated the virus in feces on the first day after the appearance of clinical symptoms in all diseased dogs. On the second day, the immunochromatographic method showed the presence of virus in 7 dogs, and the haemagglutination method in 11 dogs. Before death occurred, the immunochromatographic method showed a positive result in only two dogs, and haemagglutination in 8 diseased dogs. The virus was demonstrated in all dogs after their death using the immunofluorescence method.
