In this paper have been shown the results of ten-year investigations obtained through the soybean breeding programme aimed to bread plants with the higher first node above soil surface. The combining variants of parents were: 1. Zvecka-73 x Wirth; 2. Hodgson x Zvecka-73; 3. BG-7629 x Pi-9291. Within high heterozygotic progeny generations (F2, F3, F4) at all variants of crossing, the height of the first fertile (fruitfull) node varied extensivelly. Within the final - homozygotic progeny generations (F7-F9) bread (extracted) genetic stabilized lines that formed of the first fertile (fruitfull) nodes higher then 12 cm's above soil surface.
