In vitro multiplication of some varieties of African violets (Saintpaulia ionantha L.)

The pieces of leaf petioles were cultivated onto medium which contained MS salts and vitamins, 20g/l of sucrose, 100 mg/l of inositol, 7 g/l of agar and phytohormones in different concentrations. There were used cytokinin BAP and auxines IBA, IAA and NAA. The best results were achieved onto combination BAP with NAA. The multiplication is best onto basal medium containing 1 mg/l of IBA. This medium is also good for rooting.
