Variant selection models of combined and milk breeds in Slovenia [Yugoslavia]

By the computer programmed method of simulation, numerous variants of the model of selection with Brown, Simmental and Black-and-white cattle breeds have been determined. With Brown and Simmental breeds, the increased percentage of cows in the control, has the best effect on the genetic improvement and net income. With all the three breeds the best system is the one with young bulls, and therefore, introduction of this system as well as the increase of the number of cows in the control are recommended with Brown and Simmental breeds.
