2024
AS Tomar | HS Chauhan | KK Singh
Response of French bean plants to three different methods of irrigation namely drip, microsprinkler and surface methods of irrigation on reproductive growth and root-shoot characteristics was studied. Green pod yield, weight and number of dry pods, number of seeds per plant and weight of husk was found maximum for drip irrigation, whereas, weight of seeds and seed-husk ratio was found maximum with microsprinkler irrigation. Maximum length of primary root and overall root length was found in surface irrigation treatment, whereas, number of secondary and tertiary roots were found maximum in drip irrigation treatment. Ratio of fresh shoot-root was found maximum with drip method of irrigation.
