Efecto de dos sistemas de cosecha en la calidad de banano

In the Agrícola Venecia farm, located in El Cambio parish, a study compared two types of harvest systems, Stairs versus Billhook. The objective of the investigation were: 1. To establish management of cluster quality for the two types of harvest systems; 2. To determine which of the two types of harvest systems gave the smallest percentage of waste; 3. To complete a productivity analysis on the production of boxes/hectare. The objectives of this research are based in two clearly defined stages, the first one was 20 plants weekly randomly chosen for 12 week, which ones were harvested by billhook and the same plants number by stair; the ones were harvested by billhook, the pseudostem was cut at the last bunch's hand height and the ones were harvested with stair was cut at the rachis height, letting 1 meter more less than the harvested with billhook.The second stage was to evaluate the return as future mother; this helped to analyze the contribution that the pseudostem gives as nutritional support to the return and this one to the bunch.The indicated variables data were obtained during the visits into the periods and research’s determined phases, which ones were handled for 9 months, due to this was taken as a test the selected plants return in the research's first stage, this ones were registered to do the respective analysis.In both harvest systems, work that was done for 12 weeks, averaging 40 clusters harvested per week. In total, 480 clusters were selected at random. The following variables were analyzed: cluster weight, foliage weight, number of clusters in each hand, rachis weight, wastage percentage, the return per year. The obtained results were of high statistical significance. For the treatment and tape cutting, the stairs harvest system demonstrated better productivity indexes and major averages for the cluster weight and number of hands in the 12 consecutive tap cutting. Of the total 480 clusters, there was an increase in weight of 8.4 kilos/cluster. For the billhook harvest system, better productivity indexes for the number of clusters per were also seen. Additionally, it should be noted that there were significant differences between both harvest system production in the analysis of the foliage and rachis weight and that there was highsignificant importance that the billhook harvest system diminished the waste average by18%. The stairs harvest system was about to obtain an economic profit of $ 3,918.00 and between the realized variables there was no high or low grade of interrelationship - so it is necessary to consider the variables separately as independent variables which will interrelate in the events of the harvest.

En la Finca Agrícola Venecia, ubicada en la parroquia El cambio, se investigó con dos sistemas de cosecha, con Escalera y Podón, para lo cual se planteó los siguientes objetivos: 1. Establecer el manejo de la calidad del racimo con dos sistemas de cosecha;2. Determinar cuál de estos dos tipos de cosecha se obtiene un menor porcentaje de merma; 3. Realizar un análisis de rendimiento en cajas/ha. Los objetivos del presente trabajo están direccionados a dos etapas claramente definidas, la primera fue escoger al azar 20 plantas semanales durante 12 semanas, las cuales fueron cosechadas por medio del podón y de igual número de plantas para ser cosechadas por escalera, las cosechadas con podón, el pseudotallo fue cortado a la altura de la última mano del racimo y las cosechadas por escalera fueron cortadas a la altura del raquis, dejando más o menos 1 metro que las cosechadas con podón.La segunda etapa fue la de evaluar al retorno como futura madre, la que nos sirvió para analizar el aporte que brinda el pseudotallo como soporte de nutrición al retorno y este a su vez al racimo.Los datos de las variables señaladas fueron obtenidos durante las visitas realizadas dentro de los periodos y fases determinadas de la investigación, las cuales estuvieron comprendidas en un lapso de nueve meses, debido a que tomamos como punto de evaluación al retorno de las plantas seleccionadas en la primera etapa de la investigación, los mismos que fueron registrados para realizar los análisis respectivos.En los dos sistemas de cosecha, labor que se realizó durante 12 semanas, cosechando 40 racimos semanales, totalizando 480 seleccionados al azar. Las variables analizadas fueron peso del racimo, peso del follaje, número de manos por racimo, peso del raquis, porcentaje de merma, retorno por año. Los resultados obtenidos arrojaron alta significancia estadística para tratamientos y cintas de corte, evidenciando que el sistema de cosecha con escalera tiene mejores índices de productividad por presentar mayores promedios en el peso del racimo y numero de manos. Con el sistema de cosecha con escalera, se reportó mejores pesos de racimos en 12 cintas consecutivas de corte, valorada mediante el proceso de 480 racimos, el incremento del peso del racimo fue de8,4 kilos/racimo con el sistema de cosecha mediante el empleo de una escalera, con relación al que se cosechó con podón; para el número de manos por racimo, también se obtuvo mejores índices de productividad; diferencias significativas entre los dos sistemas de cosecha también se logró en cuanto se refiere al peso del follaje y del raquis. Además se pudo comprobar que fue altamente significativa la cosecha con escalera en cuanto al porcentaje de merma debido a que se redujo en un 18% comparándolo con el sistema de cosecha con podón. Con el sistema de cosecha con escalera pudimos obtener un beneficio económico de $ 3 918,00 Y entre las variables evaluadas no se encontró un grado ni bajo ni alto de la interrelación, por lo que se deben considerar como variables independientes, que sirven para interrelacionar los eventos de la cosecha.
