As detailed, it was determined that the use of organic fertilizers such as manure and worm humus is evidenced in horticultural crops of the Ecuadorian coast, as an excellent alternative to the use of chemical fertilizers, because they improve the physicochemical characteristics of the soils, the value nutritional of vegetables, increasing profitable yields and economic benefits; Manure significantly increases soil organic matter, presenting a higher concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, it also reduces harmful microorganisms that affect plant development and worm humus presents better conditions to be incorporated into the soil.

En la presente investigación se trató sobre los abonos orgánicos: ventajas y desventajas en los cultivos hortícolas de la costa ecuatoriana. La horticultura es esencial para la alimentación, a partir de la cual se puede generar la combinación de alimentos dentro del plan alimenticio de la humanidad; además desempeña un importante papel porque genera ingresos económicos y fuente de empleos importantes para el beneficio de la población. Los abonos orgánicos enriquecen los suelos incorporando nutrientes y microorganismos, debido a su alto contenido de nutrientes en forma asimilable, mejorando la calidad del sustrato a nivel nutricional y estimulando el crecimiento vegetativo de las plantas. Por lo detallado se determinó que se evidencia el uso de abonos orgánicos como estiércol y humus de lombriz en los cultivos hortícolas de la costa ecuatoriana, como excelente alternativa al uso de fertilizantes químicos, debido a que mejoran las características fisicoquímicas de los suelos, el valor nutricional de las hortalizas, incrementando los rendimientos y beneficios económicos rentables; el estiércol aumenta de manera significativa la materia orgánica del suelo, presentando mayor concentración de nitrógeno, fósforo y potasio, y disminuye además los microorganismos perjudiciales que afectan el desarrollo de las plantas; el humus de lombriz presenta mejores condiciones para ser incorporado al suelo.
