RESUMEN: Fueron determinados los perfi les de temperatura, salinidad y densidad en el punto de descarga del emisario submarino de Santa Marta. Se encontraron tres masas de aguas. Los periodos de estratificación térmica coinciden con las dos épocas de lluvias en la región (entre abril y junio la primera y agosto y diciembre la segunda). El espesor de la termoclina puede alcanzar hasta 12 metros de espesor y gradientes térmicos de 0.67 °C/m. Palabras clave: Perfil de salinidad, perfil de temperatura, termoclina, estratificación
Show more [+] Less [-]ABSTARCT: Temperatura, salinity and density profi les were determined at Santa Marta submarine outfall dischargue point. Two water masses were found. The periods of thermal stratifi cation coincide with two rainy stations (between April and June the fi rst one and August and December the second one).
