Show more [+] Less [-]The present work la a part of a general study on the Aljarafe zone area within the province of Seville (SW. Spain) situated on 8 Tertiary plateau between those rivers Guadalquivir and Guadiamar, 100 to 150 m high (Fig. 1) . This zone, together with those of Condado de Huelva and Algarve in Portugal (Conference on Mediterranean Soils, 1966) show the formation of red soils developed on Tertiary sandstones from SW. of Iberian peninsula Modolling of landscape by erosion and phenomena made intervene older materials, as Tortonian marls and newer materials as sandy Pliocene and Quaternary elements into the actual land configuration
