English. This article analyzes the photographic itinerary taken by Maria José and Claudia along and wide of Caribbean Nicaraguan. According with the authors, every image caught on this journey does not have to do with the images suggested by the motto given to the Atlantic Coast by mestizos of the Pacific in the 80's: "The Giant that awakes". These pictures give testimony of the Epiphany of the multiethnic conscience of many indigenous people and ethnic communities regarding the Autonomy Project.
Show more [+] Less [-]Spanish; Castilian. En este artículo se analiza el recorrido fotográfico de María José Álvarez y Claudia Gordillo a lo largo y ancho del Caribe nicaragüense. Según los autores, las imágenes capturadas en esos recorridos no se corresponden con la imagen que sugiere el epíteto con que los mestizos del Pacifico bautizaron a la Costa Atlántica en la década de los años 80: “el gigante que despierta”. Según ellos, estas fotografías son el testimonio de la epifanía de la conciencia multiétnica de varios pueblos indígenas y comunidades étnicas alrededor del Proyecto de Autonomía.
