The effect of a stationary and homogeneous magnetic field, in the range 2.23–3.72 mT (milliTeslas), on the germination of Triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack) seeds was studied. The time required for obtaining 50% of germinated seeds (t50) decreased when the magnetic field induction (B) was increased. Similar results were obtained for most of the studied germination parameters. Furthermore, a final seed germination rate (Gmax) of over 90% was obtained for magnetic field induction higher than 2.23 mT. The magnetic-time model for seed germination was used to establish the germination process of treated Triticale seeds. The magnetic-time constant θB was obtained by plotting the magnetic field vs. the germination rate (GR), with θB = 409.34 mTh (milliTesla hour). The value of R – squared of the mentioned graph was 0.9827, which suggests that the magnetic time model explains well the germination process of Triticale seeds.
