Increasing garlic production and improving bulb quality are essential aims for growers to meet market and consumer requirements by adopting new and more sustainable practices. A field experiment was conducted during the 2021/2022 season to find out the influence of some commercial biostimulants of the BAIC brand: Nutran FH® and Phytotrat® on plant growth, yield and storage capacity of purple garlic and in addition, of a moisture retaining hydrogel Viacqua® on soil moisture. Three months after planting, foliar applications were made and repeated 4 times at 30-day intervals throughout the growing season. The experimental design was a block design with two replications. The results showed that foliar application of Nutran FH® and in combination with Phytotrat® effectively increased the height, number of leaves and leaf area of garlic plants compared to the control. The application of the biostimulants showed a higher bulb weight and greater diameter, which was reflected in a higher production (17.5 and 14.3 t/ha), which shows the effectiveness of their use under the climatic and soil conditions in the province of Ciudad Real, without negatively repercussing on the nutritional quality. Daily moisture loss occurred slower when Viacqua® was applied, which allows the water to be available to the plant for a prolonged period of time.
