French. Trois nouvelles espèces de Chlamydia, toutes isolées d’oiseaux, viennent d’être décrites. Ces résultats justifient une réévaluation de l’épidémiologie et de la pathogénie de la chlamydiose aviaire quin’implique plus seulement Chlamydia psittaci, l’espèce classiquementassociée aux oiseaux. La pathogénicité et la virulence de ces nouvelles souches restent à déterminer, tant pour l’animal que pour l’Homme.
Show more [+] Less [-]English. Avian chlamydiosis: new actors arediscovered. Three new species of Chlamydia, all of them isolatedfrom birds, have recently been discovered. This justifies a re-evaluation of the epidemiology and the pathogenicity of avian chlamydiosis which no longer only involves Chlamydia psittaci, the species classically associated with birds. The pathogenicity and the virulence of the new strains remain to be determined, both in animals and man.
