Nicht nur eine importierte Reisekrankheit : Die Hepatozoonose der Marder | Not just an imported travel associated disease : Marten hepatozoonosis

Hepatozoon spp. sind apikomplexe protozoische Blutparasiten, die Nagetiere, Eichhörnchen, Kaniden, Feliden, Waschbären, Nerze, Marder und andere fleischfressende Säugetiere, aber auch Vögel und Reptilien befallen. In Deutschland, Österreich, Schottland und Japan ist die Hepatozoonose bei Steinmarder, Baummarder und Japanischem Marder beschrieben. Erreger ist Hepatozoon martis. Obwohl in der Literatur dieser Infektion keine wesentliche nosologische Bedeutung beigemessen wird, sind in dem Untersuchungsmaterial des CVUA Stuttgart wiederholt eine Hepatozoon-assoziierte granulomatöse Myokarditis und systemische Amyloidose festgestellt worden. Bei der Hälfte der Fälle lag zudem eine Koinfektion mit Staupevirus vor. Dieser Fallbericht ordnet das Geschehen in den aktuellen Wissensstand zur Hepatozoonose ein und gibt mit der ln-situ-Hybridisierung als Ergänzung zur Realtime-PCR und Nukleinsäuresequenzierung ein Anwendungsbeispiel molekularpathologischer Untersuchungsmethoden.

Hepatozoon spp. are apicomplexan protozoan blood parasites that infect rodents, squirrels, canids, felids, raccoons, minks, martens and other carnivorous mammals, but also birds and reptiles. In Germany, Austria, Scotland, and Japan hepatozoonosis has been described in stone marten, pine marten, and Japanese marten. The causative agent is Hepatozoon martis. Although no essential nosological significance is attributed to this infection in the literature, granulomatous myocarditis and systemic amyloidosis have repeatedly been found in the material examined at CVUA Stuttgart. Half of the cases had co-infection with canine distemper virus. This case report places this entity in the current state of knowledge and gives an application example of molecular pathological examination methods with in situ hybridisation as a supplement to real-time PCR and nucleic acid sequencing.
