Previsão da exposição humana à poluição atmosférica a nível nacional

A importância dada à gestão da qualidade do ar especialmente na vertente dasaúde humana tem vindo a aumentar nos últimos anos. Esta preocupação coincide com as estratégias comunitárias e consequentemente na legislaçãonacional que têm sido desenvolvidas nas últimas décadas. Neste trabalho pretende-se criar uma ligação entre os valores previstos de qualidade do ar e a exposição humana a que a população está sujeita a nívelnacional, dando um contributo para um maior esclarecimento na temáticaAmbiente-Saúde. Com esse objectivo, na modelação atmosférica aproveitou-se o sistema de previsão de qualidade do ar existente em Portugal Continental, constituído pelomodelo meteorológico MM5 e o modelo químico CHIMERE. Para a modelação da exposição humana desenvolveu-se um módulo que considera:as concentrações dos poluentes simulados pelo sistema de modelos MM5-CHIMERE, os factores que interligam as concentrações existentes no exteriore as dos microambientes considerados e o perfil actividade-tempo da população. Este trabalho permitiu estimar a exposição humana a nível nacional para o anode 2007. Foi possível concluir que as zonas do país mais preocupantes a nível deexposição humana são as grandes áreas urbanas (Lisboa e Porto) e as zonasindustriais deSetúbal e Sines, que tem valores mais elevados para aexposição humana. A metodologia do módulo de exposição pode ser aplicada a outros casos deestudo, adaptando as considerações realizadas à realidade pretendida. ABSTRACT: The emphasis on management of air quality especially in the field of humanhealth has been increasing in recent years. This concern coincides with theCommunity strategies and consequently in national legislation that have been developed in recent decades. This paper aims to create a link between air quality forecast and their human exposure, making a contribution to the further clarification on the themeEnvironment-Health. To that end, in atmospheric modelling was applied air quality forecasting system existing in Portugal, made by the meteorological model MM5 and chemical model CHIMERE. For the modelling of human exposure a module has been developed that considers: theconcentrations of pollutants simulated by the system of models MM5-CHIMERE, the indoor/outdoor ratios and thetime-activity profile of the population. This work allows estimate the human exposure for Portugal in the year of 2007. It could be concluded that the areas of most concern at the level of humanexposure in Portugal are the major urban areas (Lisboa and Porto) and the industrial areas of Setúbal and Sines, which exhibit higher values for human exposure. The methodology of the exposure module may be applied to other cases of study, adapting the considerations made to the desired reality.
