Eficiência do Fertiactyl® na proteção de plantas de eucalipto atingidas por deriva de glyphosate | Efficiency of Fertiactyl® in protecting eucalyptus plants affected by glyphosate drift

O glyphosate é o herbicida mais utilizado no manejo de plantas daninhas em florestas de eucalipto, por ter um custo mais baixo e utilizar um menor número de mão-de-obra para sua aplicação. Porém, é comum ocorrer deriva e, consequentemente, o contato com as outras plantas de eucalipto, podendo proporcionar sintomas de fitotoxicidade afetando a produtividade e a qualidade da madeira. Portanto, torna-se necessário encontrar formas de minimizar os efeitos deletérios do glyphosate nas plantas de eucalipto, seja por melhorias na tecnologia de aplicação ou pelo uso de protetores. O Fertiactyl tem sido relatado com potencial biorreparador na redução da intoxicação causada pela deriva do glyphosate. Considerando que os mecanismos pelos quais a proteção do Fertiactyl contra ação do glyphosate no eucalipto não são conhecidos, buscou-se avaliar, nessa pesquisa, o efeito da associação do boro ao Fertiactyl na redução de mortes do ponteiro provocadas pelo glyphosate, e o efeito do Fertiactyl na absorção e translocação de 14 C-glyphosate em plantas de eucalipto na redução da intoxicação de clones de eucalipto. Foram conduzidos dois experimentos em casa de vegetação da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Viçosa-MG, para avaliar a proteção do Fertiactyl contra a ação do glyphosate em clones de eucalipto, e a resposta da associação do boro ao Fertiactyl sobre a morte de gemas apicais. Outro experimento foi realizado no Laboratório de Ecotoxicologia do Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura (CENA/USP), Piracicaba, SP, para avaliar o efeito do Fertiactyl na absorção e translocação de 14 C-glyphosate em plantas jovens de eucalipto. No primeiro experimento, observou-se que há diferenças na sensibilidade de clones de eucalipto ao glyphosate, e que o Fertiactyl protegeu os três clones contra intoxicação por glyphosate. No segundo, notou-se que quando o glyphosate foi aplicado na dose de 720 g ha -1 , o Fertiactyl sem o boro reduziu a morte de gemas apicais; todavia, não houve efeito para a dose de 1440 g ha -1 do herbicida. Quando o boro foi adicionado à calda juntamente com Fertiactyl, verificou-se que não houve morte das gemas apicais do eucalipto, nas duas doses de glyphosate estudadas. E, no terceiro, o Fertiactyl diminuiu a absorção e a translocação do 14 C-glyphosate. Nesta pesquisa mostrou-se que os efeitos danosos do glyphosate ocorrem em diferentes níveis de acordo com a suscetibilidade dos clones de eucalipto ao herbicida. O Fertiactyl apresenta um potencial de proteção em clones de distintas sensibilidades e a combinação Fertiactyl e boro amplia consideravelmente a proteção contra os danos promovidos pelo glyphosate, indicando que o boro possui potencial para compor a formulação de Fertiactyl para uso no manejo de plantas daninhas na cultura do eucalipto. O efeito protetor do Fertiactyl ocorre quando ele é aplicado com glyphosate em mistura em tanque, pois diminui a absorção e a translocação do glyphosate pelas plantas de eucalipto. Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide for wedd management in eucalyptus forests, as its low cost and occupy less labor for its application. However, it is common to experience glyphosate drift, i.e., the herbicide comes into contact with eucalyptus plants, causing symptoms of phytotoxicity affecting wood productivity and quality. To minimize the deleterious these glyphsote effects, it becomes necessary to find ways either through improvements in application technology or through the use of protectors. Fertiactyl has been reported to have a bioregenerative potential in reducing intoxication caused by glyphosate drift. Considering that the mechanisms by which the protection of Fertiactyl against the action of glyphosate in eucalyptus are not known, we evaluatedthe effect of the association of boron with Fertiactyl in reducing pointer deaths caused by glyphosate, and the effect of Fertiactyl in the absorption and translocation of 14 C-glyphosate in eucalyptus plants to reduce the intoxication of eucalyptus clones. Two experiments were conducted in a greenhouse at the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa-MG, to evaluate the protection of Fertiactyl against glyphosate drift on eucalyptus clones, and the response of the association of boron to Fertiactyl on the death of apical buds. Another experiment was carried out at the Ecotoxicology Laboratory of the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA/USP), Piracicaba, SP, to evaluate the effect of Fertiactyl on the absorption and translocation of 14 C-glyphosate in young eucalyptus plants. In the first experiment, differences in the sensitivity of eucalyptus clones to glyphosate were observed, and Fertiactyl protected the three clones against herbicide intoxication by glyphosate drift. In the second experiment, there was no death of the apical buds of the eucalyptus plants when boron was added to the syrups of glyphosate (720 or 1440 g ha -1 ) + Fertiactyl. However, when plants were treated without boron, the reduction in apical bud death was observed only at the dose of 720 g ha -1 glyphosate + Fertyactyl. And in the third, Fertiactyl decreased the absorption and translocation of 14 C-glyphosate. In this research it was demonstrated that harmful effects of glyphosate occur at different levels according to the susceptibility of the eucalyptus clones to the herbicide. Fertiactyl has the potential to protecteucalyptus clones, with different sensitivities, fron the glyphosate drift.and the addition boron incresed the protective action of Fertiactyl against glyphosate drift, suggesting that boron may be a potential component of Fertiactyl formulation for use in the weed management in eucalyptus plantations. The protective effect of Fertiactyl occurs when it is applied with glyphosate in tank mix, as it reduces the absorption and translocation of glyphosate by eucalyptus plants. Keywords: EPSPS.
