In 2010, aesthetic resources (sceneries and observation spots) of landscape of 8 estate parks in Vilnius and its environs were estimated following the Methods for Aesthetic and Recreational Assessment of Landscape. 8 observation spots (46-62 points) and 8 sceneries (55-109 points) sceneries were evaluated. Good quality (51-60 points) observation spots and moderately picturesque (61-80 points) sceneries dominate. The environment of most parks and observation spots in Vilnius district is neglected: the meadows are not mowed, young trees and shrubs of little value prevail on the banks of ponds and forest edges. Picturesque sceneries should be identified and opened in observation spots of estate parks.
