Hábitos alimenticios, actividad física y riesgo cardiovascular en docentes de la Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí "Manuel Félix López" del periodo octubre 2022-febrero 2023.

Las enfermedades cardiacas representan una de las principales razones detrás de los fallecimientos a nivel global, y evitarlos se ha vuelto un desafío crucial para la salud pública. Los hábitos alimenticios y el modo de vida son elementos reconocidos como propensos a aumentar el riesgo de padecer enfermedades cardíacas, y los educadores podrían estar más expuestos debido a la naturaleza de su labor, la cual frecuentemente incluye extensas jornadas de sedentarismo y momentos de tensión y preocupación. La investigación de esta tesis tuvo como objetivo determinar los hábitos alimenticios, nivel de actividad física y riesgo cardiovascular en los docentes de la ESPAM MFL del periodo octubre 2022-febrero 2023. Se trata de un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo con diseño de corte transversal y alcance descriptivo, ya que se pudo analizar las variables de la población de estudio. Se realizó una encuesta a 88 docentes a tiempo completo y que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Para el procesamiento y análisis de resultados se utilizó el software estadístico SPSS versión 27.0. Los resultados arrojaron que los docentes consumen más panes y cereales, que frutas y vegetales, también realizan poca actividad física a la semana, y el riesgo cardiovascular dado por un alto índice de sobrepeso y obesidad, prevaleciendo el sexo femenino con el 70,5% sobre el sexo masculino con 44,3%, el riesgo cardiovascular según circunferencia abdominal mostró elevados porcentajes tanto en sexo masculino con 42,6% y sexo femenino con 55,6%, del mismo modo el ICC e ICA reveló elevado riesgo cardiovascular en la población de estudio. Conclusión: Dentro de la población docente hay un alto índice de riesgo cardiovascular dado por hábitos alimenticios no adecuados y por falta de actividad física.

Heart diseases represent one of the main reasons behind deaths globally, and avoiding them has become a crucial challenge for public health. Eating habits and lifestyle are elements recognized as likely to increase the risk of heart disease, and educators may be more exposed due to the nature of their work, which often includes long days of sedentary lifestyle and moments of stress and worry. The objective of the research was to determine the eating habits, level of physical activity and cardiovascular risk in the teachers of the ESPAM MFL from October 2022 to February 2023. It is a study with a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and descriptive scope, since that it was possible to analyze the variables of the study population. A survey was carried out on 88 full-time teachers who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. For the processing and analysis of results, the statistical software SPSS version 27.0 was used. The results showed that the teachers consume more breads and cereals than fruits and vegetables, they also perform little physical activity per week, and the cardiovascular risk is high in which there is a higher rate of overweight, prevailing the female sex with 70.5 % over the male sex with 44.3%, the cardiovascular risk according to abdominal circumference showed high percentages both in the male sex with 42.6% and the female sex with 55.6%, in the same way the ICC and ICA revealed high cardiovascular risk in the study population. Conclusion: Within the teaching population there is a high rate of cardiovascular risk to inappropriate eating habits and for less of physical activity.
